人生というものは、芸術が人生を摸倣する以上に、人生が芸術を摸倣する(Life imitates art far more than art imitates life. Oscar Wilde)という、オスカー・ワイルドの名言がこの頃気になってしかたがない。苦笑しながら振り返れば、そこには、子どもが砂場でぴょんぴょん跳ねながら、なにかを拵えているような自分の姿が見えてくる。なにかが完成しようとすると、砂の建造物はさながらバベルの塔のように、ちょっとした弾みで脆くも崩れる。泣いたり、怒ったりした後、再び白昼夢の世界で遊び始める。
Life imitates art far more than art imitates life. That wise remark of Oscar Wilde is always in my mind these days. Reviewing my long and rough road which I have walked, I can see my airy figure playing in a sandbox. I appear to be making something indefatigably as if a colt. When something is going to be completed, a pile of the sand like the Tower of Babel collapses by a slight spring easily. After crying and losing my temper, I begin to play again with moony eyes.
